Enzo Park at Minich Farms
Home of the Magic
Ballpark Profile | 08/09/11
The dreaded long trip out West for most ORWBL teams, Enzo Park at Minich Farms is
located south of La Porte, IN. The ballpark opened in the middle of the 2011 season
as the home of the Maple City Magic.
The Magic entered the league after owner Alex Friedman bought the failing
Minutemen franchise, and relocated the team.
Like many ORWBL ballparks, the outfield wall consists of orange snow fence.
However, unlike any other park in the league, an 8-foot tall plywood Blue Monster
looms over left-handed power hitters. The Monster stands 94 feet away from home
plate in right field. As seen in the picture to the right, the Monster has also appeared
in left field.
The ballpark's location on the south side of La Porte creates a geographical rivalry
with interleague foe, the La Porte Bombers, who also play on the south side of the
Maple City. In fact, the entry of the Magic into the league included a trade of Charlie
Minich from the Bombers.
