| Newts sign Schmitt away from B-Slugs |
Brad Schmitt has stepped down as manager of the Hudson Lake Banana Slugs to come play for
the Newts. Schmitt compiled a 52-32 record in two years as B-Slugs skipper, but had been
disappointed by the team's lackluster performance in the postseason. For the Newts, the
acquisition means the addition of a four-time All-Star to a lineup which struggled in 2011.
