Curless named Home Run King of the Year
Newts slugger earns first career Wiffy Award

NEW CARLISLE- The National Wiffle League Association recently announced their 2011 Wiffy
Award winners, and Newts slugger Garrett Curless was among the players honored.
Curless was named Home Run King of the Year.
Curless belted 49 home runs in just 29 games this season, leading the entire Old Republic
Whiffle Ball League.
Curless maintained a solid .530 batting average, and tied for the ORWBL lead with 88 RBI.
His batting prowess also earned him a spot on the NWLA Hitters National First Team.
The Wiffy Award is the first for any ORWBL player since the league joined the NWLA prior to
the 2010 season.


The Old Republic Whiffle Ball League is a slow pitch whiffleball league based in New Carlisle, Indiana, founded in 2007. ORWBL operates
