Keck to return for a sixth season in 2012
Newts skipper will not step down after losing year
Team Report | 11/22/11
NEW CARLISLE- Despite the losing record in 2011, the first losing season in franchise
history, Newts manager Koby Keck will return for a sixth season at the helm of the ORWBL's
most famous franchise.

Keck, who is also the owner of the team, will not step down or fire himself as some had
speculated towards the end of the season.  The Newts lost seven out of their last 10 games,
as rival Emery's Army took the NL Division Championship.  It was the first time in the
franchise's five year history that the Newts did not win its division title.

The Newts skipper is the all-time leader in managerial wins and has led the franchise to a
106-64 record.  The team experienced great success in the team's first three seasons,
winning 2 City Championships (2007, 2008) and reaching the ORWBL World Series twice
(2008, 2009).

However, the franchise has gone 41-43 in the past two seasons.  Keck has indicated that a
change at the top may be necessary if the declining trend continues through the 2012 season.
