- All league games will be 6 innings long. Teams will play a set of 3 games. If the game is tied after 6 innings, extra innings will be played.
- Each team will consist of 5 players. All 5 will bat and play the field. NO DESIGNATED HITTERS. Teams must have a catcher. All other fielders
may be positioned anywhere. If a team doesn't have enough players, they may play with 4, but still must field a catcher.
- Catcher Rules: In order to foul out to the catcher, the ball must be above the catcher's shoulders. Unless there are two strikes, then a foul tip
caught by the catcher is a strikeout. Runners may not advance on passed balls or wild pitches. Batting team must give the catcher enough
space in order to play foul pop-ups.
- Substitutions are allowed, but once removed from the game, players may not re-enter. Exceptions may be made due to injury.
- The batting order may not change during the game.
- Players will run the bases. There will be no "ghost" runners.
- All pitches must be slow and have an arc on them. The batter may ask the pitcher to slow the pitches down.
- There will be no walks, balls, or called strikes. Batters can strike out swinging.
- Pitcher's hand will be used. All force plays on the batter going to first base may be made to the pitcher, who may be anywhere in fair or foul
territory. The runner may also be put out by force at first base. All other force plays must be made to the bases or home plate.
- Runners can be put out by being struck anywhere by a thrown ball.
- Stealing bases is illegal.
- Bunting is illegal.
-No infield fly rule will be used.
- Fielders may not wear gloves.
- Managers should meet at home plate prior to each game to discuss ground rules and exchange lineups.
- Game balls used will be those of the home team. Game balls will be provided by the league. Balls with cracks past the seam should not be
used. All equipment used shall be from the Official WIFFLE® brand. Bats may be taped on the handle. The hole on the knob of the bat must be
open.
- Disputed calls should be settled by team managers. If an agreement cannot be reached, do-over plays are allowed. Umpires may be used for
the ORWBL World Series.
- All other game rules will follow those of Major League Baseball's National League.
- All roster moves must be approved by the ORWBL.
SCORING RULES: There are no errors in ORWBL play.
Starting pitchers must complete one inning to qualify for a win.
