NEW CARLISLE- Although it seems like Opening Day was just a couple of weeks ago, we have officially reached the final week of the 2018 ORWBL regular season. After many people around the league were starting to have doubts about the Cabo Yabos finishing out the season, the Yabos played 9 games (3 series) last weekend. National League wins the 2018 All Star Game in dramatic fashion!
NEW CARLISLE- The National League All Star team bounced back this year after losing to the AL for the first time in 5 years last season. The NL won a tightly contested Game 1 but the AL bounced back winning a 1 run game in extra innings to force the decisive Game 3. 2018 ORWBL All Stars Announced
NEW CARLISLE- The 2018 All Star teams have been announced as the 12 ORWBL All Star Game will take place on Saturday, June 16th at the historic Migley Field. This will be the 12th consecutive season that the All Star festivities will be taking place at the Friendly confines. Team Managers voted for starters and bench players and all of that was tallied up to create the first 12 men. NEW CARLISLE- The 2017 NWLA Wiffy Awards were announced and the Old Republic Wiffleball League combined for 5 Wiffy's. Since 2010, our league has won a combined 8 Wiffy Awards so the 5 awards easily set the previous record from 2010 and 2013 where 2 ORWBL players or teams won Wiffy Awards. Jet City's Tony Koch was named as the 2017 NWLA Central Hitter of the Year after leading the league in Home Runs with 72. Koch also finished 2nd in the league in Batting Average with a .6

New Carlisle- The NWLA released the 2017 All Hitting, Pitching, and Rookie teams. Our league received a lot of recognition which is great to see. In total, there were 12 ORWBL players announced to NWLA All 1st, 2nd, or 3rd teams which set the previous ORWBL record of 11 from 2016. In 2015, 8 ORWBL players were named to the teams.
