NEW CARLISLE- The 2018 All Star teams have been announced as the 12 ORWBL All Star Game will take place on Saturday, June 16th at the historic Migley Field. This will be the 12th consecutive season that the All Star festivities will be taking place at the Friendly confines. Team Managers voted for starters and bench players and all of that was tallied up to create the first 12 men. LA PORTE- It was a special day in LaPorte as the Maple City Magic unveiled their first ever World Series Championship banner while also receiving their World Series rings. Maple City won their first World Series title against the Newts last season and have high hopes heading into this season as well. ORWBL players announced to 2017 NWLA All Hitting, Pitching, and Rookie Teams
New Carlisle- The NWLA released the 2017 All Hitting, Pitching, and Rookie teams. Our league received a lot of recognition which is great to see. In total, there were 12 ORWBL players announced to NWLA All 1st, 2nd, or 3rd teams which set the previous ORWBL record of 11 from 2016. In 2015, 8 ORWBL players were named to the teams. With the schedule being officially released for the 2018 Old Republic Wiffleball League, it is time to start anticipating what might be. This year the league will operate with 14 teams so there will be plenty of storylines to follow on a weekly basis once the summer rolls around. Commissioner Alex Friedman announced that the league would return to operating under a 24 game Regular season schedule with all teams making the playoffs once again (Unless a team has to forfeit a series.) Commissioner Alex Friedman has announced that the league will operate under a 24 game regular season schedule next season. In 2017, teams played a 30 game schedule but with all of the tournaments in the area, the league office decided that it would be best to go back to the 24 game schedule in 2018. If the current teams and setup holds true, teams will play all of the 6 other teams in their respective league while also having 2 inter-league series. #Yabos #Mechanics #SourChic
