NEW CARLISLE - The New Carlisle Newts are headed back to the ORWBL World Series, after defeating the Saugany Lake White Lightning, 3-1, in the National League Championship Series. It marks the fourth consecutive trip to the World Series for New Carlisle. The Newts won back-to-back titles in 2013 and 2014, but fell in seven games to Cult West in 2015. Wild Card Results
LA PORTE- The 2016 ORWBL postseason kicked off Sunday afternoon with 4 Wild Card Games played at 4 different sites. All 4 teams that won their division played host to the respective Wild Card teams. Over in LaPorte, things got started early as the Bourissa Hills Pterodactyls took care of business with a 9-3 win over the Great Lakes Godfathers. White Lightning finish regular season with 11-1 record at Home
NEW CARLISLE- The Saugany Lake White Lightning wrapped up their 2016 regular season taking 2 out of 3 from the New Carlisle Newts. They won the first 2 games on walk off Home Runs before dropping their first and only home game of the season in Game 3. Overall, it was a very impressive season at home from Saugany Lake who should be a team to fear come playoff time. National League wins All Star Game, Home Field Advantage
NEW CARLISLE- After a 2 year stretch of no NL/AL All Star Game, ORWBL teams gathered at Migley Field in hopes of capturing home field advantage for their respective league. In the first All Star Game between the AL and NL since 2013, it was Koby Keck's National League All Star team that ran away with things on Thursday night. 2016 All-Star Teams Announced
NEW CARLISLE- The majority of the National League and American League All Star teams were announced on Saturday as manager voting decided the first 14 spots on each respective side. Manager voting decided who would start on the mound as well as 4 Outfielder/Utility spots. There was no voting for the catcher position. LA PORTE- As we have hit the All Star Break, the Galena Marsh Dabbers own the best record in ORWBL at 11-4. The Jared Emmons led squad has been impressing everyone all season long by winning all five series that they have played in. LA PORTE- After dropping 2 out of 3 to Hudson Lake last week, Maple City got back on track with an interleague series sweep over the Saugany Lake White Lightning.
