Cseh, Richards earn NL and AL Rookie of the Year Honors

NEW CARLISLE- As the season concluded, ORWBL Managers had a vote for the 2018 regular season awards. All 14 Managers got their ballots in and the first award announced was the NL and AL Rookie's of the Year.

Adam Cseh of the South Shore Silver Sluggers was named as the 2018 National League Rookie of the Year. Cseh went 60-104 as he finished out the season with a .577 AVG to go along with 28 Home Runs and 45 RBI.

Cseh had a fantastic first season with ORWBL while also helping lead the Silver Sluggers to an 8-16 record which surpassed many people's expectations for this young first year team. There is no doubt that Cseh played a major role in helping the Silver Sluggers exceed expectations.

Cseh will look to build off of his NL Rookie of the Year campaign in 2019 as he will look to bolster the Silver Sluggers roster during the offseason. All in all, Cseh showed that he can play ball as Cseh was also a National League All Star.

If Cseh can get some more help from the rest of the lineup next season, the Silver Sluggers should be in good shape to take a nice step forward in year two of the Sluggers organization.

Meanwhile over in the American League, Mark Richards of the South Bend Muffs was awarded the 2018 American League Rookie of the Year. Despite playing in only 13 games, Richards made his mark as he was a key player in the Muffs successful 17-7 regular season.

Richards belted 18 Home Runs, while having 30 RBI's, and 32 Runs. Richards showed that he has a knack for getting on base as he ended the season with an impressive .554 AVG. While the Muffs season ended earlier than they would have liked, Richards still showed that he is a player to watch out for as the young slugger announced after the season that he would be leaving the Muffs as he will be Managing the Zone 3 Cyclones in 2019 as they will be joining the league next season.

Congratulations to both players who have now certainly put their name on the ORWBL map and will certainly be players to watch out for in 2019.
