Maple City Moves on to ALCS


LA PORTE - The two-time defending champion Maple City Magic (19-5) advanced to the American League Championship Series yet again after defeating the seven-seeded Bourissa Hills Wildcards (7-14) in two games. With the win, Maple City returns to familiar territory in ALCS and will look to reach their fourth consecutive World Series.

Prior to Maple City's victory, two sets of Wild Card games were decided, with the Bourissa Hills Wildcards (9-15) taking on the Great Lakes Godfathers (10-14) in the first. The Wildcards defeated the Godfathers in perhaps Great Lake's final ORWBL game by a margin of 12-7.

The Wildcards stayed hot in the next Wild Card, battling the three-seeded LaPorte Cyclones (13-11). In a back-and-forth affair, Bourissa Hills continued their cinderalla-run, defeating the Cyclones 8-7 in extras to move onto the ALDS.

Following the Wild Card, Maple City shut down Bourissa Hills' ALCS dreams, defeating the 'Cards in two games. The Magic defeated the Wildcards in the first two games by scores of: 10-7 MC, and 16-7 MC.

Maple City advances to their fourth consecutive ALCS following the victory. The Magic will take on the top-seeded Twin Branch Billy Goats in a best-of-five series beginning on July 14th. The Magic will host the first two games at Magic Park, with the first pitch set for 1 pm.
