Migley Field to host 2012 All-Star Game


NEW CARLISLE- For the sixth consecutive year, Migley Field will host the Old Republic Wiffle

Ball League All-Star Game. The decision was made by the league owners, with Migley beating out the Grassy Knoll, 7-3. The home of the New Carlisle Newts has been the site of every All-Star Game since the league's inception in 2007. The 2012 All-Star Game will take place on Friday, June 29 at approx. 7:35pm ET. The stars of the National League will play host to the stars of the American League, with home-field advantage in the ORWBL World Series on the line. The American League team will be managed by Andy Ellam of the defending champion South Bend Sour Wowers. Ellam replaced Matt Serge, who has limited availability this season. Tony Koch of the Wills Township Federalists will manage the National League club. Koch replaced Shane Anderson, who now plays in the American League for the Maple City Magic. The 6th annual ORWBL Home Run Derby, scheduled for 7:00pm ET, will precede the All-Star Game. Each team will have the opportunity to be represented in the Home Run Derby. Voting for the All-Star Game will open on June 11 on ORWBL.com and run for two weeks. Starters for both teams will be announced on June 25. Additionally, Ellam and Koch will pick 10 reserves to fill out the rest of their rosters. Reserves will be announced on June 27. Every ORWBL team will have at least one representative on the All-Star team and every All-Star is guaranteed to play in the game.
