Young superstar Shail named MVP

NEW CARLISLE - With the ninth season of the Old Republic Wiffle Ball League in the books, the league will recognize its top performers of this past season. Noah Shail of the New Carlisle Newts has been named 2015 ORWBL Most Valuable Player. Shail, who was acquired from the Pterodactyls in a midseason trade last year, has become a superstar in just over a year with the Newts. Shail led the league in all major offensive categories with a .687 batting average, 58 home runs, and 82 RBI. Not only was it a Triple Crown season, it was a record breaking one. The .687 average is the highest ever for a single season. Despite great seasons from many other players around the league, the choice for Shail was a fairly obvious one. He appeared on all but one ballot, and received the most votes for any player in any awards category. Two-time MVP Scott Soos finished second in the voting. Soos finished in the top three of each category he was eligible for. Despite not winning any individual awards, he does have the ORWBL Championship trophy and the Hometown Cup in his possession to show for another incredible season in South Bend. All ORWBL awards were voted on by the managers of the league
