AL Playoffs will run thru Maple City

NEW CARLISLE- The American League Playoffs will run thru Maple City after the Magic clinched the #1 seed in the AL. Maple City started the season off strong going 5-1 in their first 6 games. They then faltered, going 4-5 over their next 9 games.

Following a mid season blockbuster trade in which Maple City acquired Wiffleball Hall of Famer John Arndt, the Magic finished the regular season going 8-1 down the stretch to finish the regular season with a 17-7 record.

Their 8-1 record was highlighted by taking 2 of 3 from the Junkballers in a series that put them in control of the American League. Ironically enough, it was Arndt who hit the go ahead Home Run in the 3rd game of the series that put the Magic up for good.

Led by MVP Candidate Wes Ellis, Maple City has just as good of a shot to win the ORWBL title as anyone. The Magic had a solid regular season without their hometown slugger Zach Liberatore for half of the season. Liberatore is healthy and ready to help Maple City make a huge run in the postseason.

The Magic will host the 4/5 game between the Pterodactyls and Godfathers in a 1 game playoff before playing the winner in the ALDS Best of 3 series on Sunday, July 17th.
