Could this be the year? Maple City wins AL Pennant after sweeping Hudson Lake

LA PORTE- The Maple City Magic are back in the World Series after completing the 3 game sweep in the ALCS over the Hudson Lake Heat. After a 9 day break, the Heat traveled to Magic Park looking to attempt a series comeback.

So far in the postseason, the Magic have been putting teams away in the 1st inning. The pattern continued as the Magic took a 6-1 lead heading into the 2nd inning. Unlike Games 1&2, Hudson Lake did not shy away however as they continued to battle until the very last out.

Maple City ended up holding on, completing the sweep with a 10-6 victory. It is the franchise's 2nd American League Championship as Maple City will get a shot at revenge on the New Carlisle Newts who beat them in the 2013 World Series in 6 games.

Things continue to look bright in LaPorte as Maple City's push for their first championship is now very much within reach. For years, the Magic have been a title contender in ORWBL and in tournaments but have still yet to win their elusive first championship.

Since making the big trade 15 games into the season, Maple City is 13-1 and currently riding a 9 game winning streak. They will look to continue their momentum and steal home field advantage as they will take on the New Carlisle Newts at Migley Field for Games 1 and 2 of the 2016 ORWBL World Series.
