2017 Team Recap: Cabo Yabos

The Cabo Yabos took a step forward in 2017 as they finished the season with an impressive 17-13 record. With their players coming from all over the Midwest, Grant Duncan was able to manage this team week in and week out with a variety of different lineups.
Cabo finished in the top half of the league in Runs Scored as they proved that there is still plenty of life left in those bats. Grant Duncan produced an MVP Caliber season with John Premetz not too far behind. They would have easily been in the MVP discussion had Tony Koch not had the historic season that he did.
Cabo also found themselves a quality pitcher to insert on the mound each and every game as Whitt Huffer proved to be a valuable asset on the mound. Huffer finished with the 2nd best ERA in the league and was usually the man on the mound for the Yabos.
After a shaky start to the season, Cabo ended the season strong going 9-2 in their final 11 games. They were able to carry over that momentum into the playoffs where they picked up their first playoff win in franchise history as they took down the Pterodactyls.
The loaded Cabo lineup stayed hot and took the first game of the ALDS against Jet City. Unfortunately for Cabo, their bats stopped working like they had all season while the Jet City bats awoke.
Cabo's 2017 season ended as they were just 1 win away from reaching the American League Championship. With Jet City having folded, Cabo heads into 2018 as one of the likely favorites to contend with the Magic in the American League.
Once Cabo's season concluded, Manager Grant Duncan announced on twitter that he would not be returning for a 3rd season as Manager but that the Yabos would still be returning to the league. With question marks surrounding who would be the next skipper of the Yabos, Duncan announced at Tent City on Hometown Days weekend that Cory Kronewitter would be taking over as the 2nd Manager of Yabos.
