Leprechauns match 2017 win total with Opening Day sweep

ROLLING PRAIRIE- After a 3-27 record in 2017, the Lynn Street Leprechauns have matched their win total after their Opening Day sweep over the first year franchise South Shore Silver Sluggers.

The Leprechauns welcomed the Silver Sluggers into the league and handed them 3 losses in their first series, something which we have become use to seeing with 1st year franchises.

Lynn Street's new addition of Sammy Zucker has already payed off as he led the way at the plate for the Leps. Lynn Street was able to receive contribution from their entire lineup as Matt Smith homered 3 times in his return to the Leps. Terry Ski also hit 7 Home Runs on the day which tied Zucker's 7 as well.

Meanwhile it was Manager Nick Brassell who picked up all 3 wins on the mound. Fresh off of their first ever series win and sweep, the Leprechauns will now shift their attention to the Twin Branch Billy Goats who they will play on May 17th.

The Silver Sluggers will look to pick up their first win as a franchise as they will travel to New Carlisle for a tough matchup with the defending National League Champions.
