Heat Acquire Reigning MVP Bailey Rhed

HUDSON LAKE - As the 2019 trade deadline approaches, the Hudson Lake Heat have made a major splash in trading for former Lynn Street Leprechaun Bailey Rhed.

Rhed is the reigning National League MVP after he batted .592 with 33 Home Runs in 2018. The 5-year veteran has previously spent time with the now-defunct Saugany Lake White Lightning, the Olive Township Mechanics, and, most recently, the Lynn Street Leprechauns.

In limited time, Rhed has batted .476 with 11 Home Runs for the 'Leps this season.

The move was announced via Hudson Lake's twitter page Monday evening. In a tweet, the Heat had this to say about the acquisition:

"Rhed will add consistent offensive numbers and lockdown defense in a hope to push the Hudson Lake team to the next level."

Rhed will join an already well-decorated cast of players on the Heat roster as Hudson Lake attempts to make a deep stretch run through the playoffs. After being ousted in the ALCS the previous two seasons, Heat fans are hoping Rhed can push them over the hump in August.
