Friedman, Cotter Take Home Manager of the Year honors

Throughout the week, we have been announcing the 2019 ORWBL regular season awards leading up to the World Series. Today, we recognize the 2019 Manager of the Year Awards for both the American and National League. Stay tuned throughout the week for more awards as tomorrow we will be announcing the 2019 Gold Glove winners!

NEW CARLISLE- Despite stumbling down the stretch of the regular season, Maple City Manager Alex Friedman won an extremely close vote between 3 Managers to take home his 4th consecutive Manager of the Year Award.

That is his 6th time winning the award, tying New Carlisle Newts Manager Koby Keck. Losing Wes Ellis was a major hit to the Magic, but the Magic skipper found a diamond in the rough as the addition of Ryan Murphy has been critical to the Magic's success this season.

Over in the National League, Olive Township's, Aidan Cotter was named the 2019 ORWBL National League Manager of the Year. After a 1 year hiatus from the league, Cotter brought his Mechanics back and they had a fantastic return to the league.

Cotter led his group to a 16-8 record while winning the NL East Division, their 1st in franchise history. This is now Cotter's 2nd National League Manager of the Year Award!

Cotter also did an extremely amazing job running his team for a period of time while he was in Spain and credits his interim Manager Colton Boren for helping steer the ship while he was gone.

Stay tuned for more awards as we will be announcing the Gold Glove winners next!
