Cyclones stun Kings, winning all 3 in highly anticipated matchup

FLAT ROCK- In arguably the most highly anticipated matchup from Opening Day, the County Line Kings traveled to take on the Flat Rock Cyclones at The Barnyard in the first ORWBL series ever played there.

The Cyclones had leaked a picture of The Barnyard a few weeks ago but the pictures might not do this top notch ballpark justice as the park is even better in person. The park features an amazing seating area beyond the Left Field fence which is known as the Captain Morgan Sky Box.

The sky box comfortably fits 6 lawn chairs up there and has easily become one of the greatest attractions around the league. There is no doubt that teams will be eager to play in this wonderful new ORWBL ballpark. While Migley Field still remains the premier ORWBL ballpark, Flat Rock is certainly making a push as this park is well deserving of national recognition.

The new ballpark was not the only thing Flat Rock was flaunting on Opening Day as their big offseason addition Tyler Shupert made his Cyclones debut batting leadoff. The addition of Shupert to an already talented Cyclones lineup could be a nightmare for fellow American League teams this season as Shupert and Richards form one of the best 1-2 punches in the league.

Flat Rock was not the only team with new additions to the lineup. County Line saw all three of their big offseason additions in the Opening Day lineup as Kody Webb, Colton Boren & Kaden Abegg joined Mike Forrester and Bryce Bloode in the lineup.

After 3 hard fought, close games, it was the Flat Rock Cyclones who would end up winning all 3 games to pick up the Opening Day sweep.

Mark Richards and the Cyclones could not have drawn up a better start to their 2020 campaign as they were 1 of only 2 American League teams to win all 3 games on Sunday. Flat Rock (3-0) will look to continue their hot start as they will host the Union Mills Goon Squad (0-3).

County Line will look to bounce back in Week 2 as they have another tough matchup as they will travel to Magic Park to take on the defending champs.
