GREAT LAKES- The Lynn Street Leprechauns are fresh off of their first series win of 2020 after taking 2 out of 3 at Great Lakes on Sunday. Overall, it was a very impressive performance from a Leprechauns team who came into this series hungry for some wins after getting swept by New Carlisle on Opening Day. In Game 1, it was Lynn Street's Jordan Peck who led the charge as he went a perfect 5-5 with 3 Home Runs and 3 RBI's. It was quite the series for Peck who bursted on the
ROLLING PRAIRIE- The new look Emery's Army made their ORWBL return in style as they picked up a hard fought Opening Day series win over the Great Lakes Godfathers. It was only fitting that Emery's Army made their return in the ballpark that they made so many memories at in their previous stints- The Grassy Knoll. While EA will not be playing there all season, it was definitely a great idea to kick things off there. Despite not being a part of the league last year, the Emery'
TWIN BRANCH- The Hudson Lake Heat picked up an important series win to start the season as they won 2 out of 3 on the road against Twin Branch. Despite being without their skipper Jared Monhaut, Hudson Lake showed that they might just be deeper than we thought. Always supporting one of the smallest rosters in the league, depth has always been a bit of a concern for the Heat if one of their stars was not able to make it to a series. It looks like the addition of Bailey Rhed
FLAT ROCK- In arguably the most highly anticipated matchup from Opening Day, the County Line Kings traveled to take on the Flat Rock Cyclones at The Barnyard in the first ORWBL series ever played there. The Cyclones had leaked a picture of The Barnyard a few weeks ago but the pictures might not do this top notch ballpark justice as the park is even better in person. The park features an amazing seating area beyond the Left Field fence which is known as the Captain Morgan Sky
GRANGER- The Granger Panthers and Union Mills Goon Squad was the first series to kick things off on Opening Day. With the wind blowing in all series long, runs were extremely hard to come by, even for the Panthers who normally have no problems scoring. Panthers ace Griffin Smith was in mid season form all series long as the Panthers played stellar defense behind Smith, as they shutout the Goon Squad in both Games 1 & 2 of the series. Looking to avoid the sweep, Union Mills w
LYNN STREET- It was a day for both the old and new as the 14th season of New Carlisle Newts wiffleball kicked off on Sunday afternoon at Rocko's Park. The Newts (3-0) swept the Lynn Street Leprechauns, 17-5, 9-3, and 17-8. With the start of the ORWBL season delayed four weeks by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the veteran Newts had extra time to knock off the cobwebs in preparation for Opening Day. The team was also able to make two late preseason signings, adding young guns A
MISHAWAKA- After a last minute change of venue due to a softball team needing the field, this series would end up being played with the wind blowing in at a different location. That didn't take anything away from the excitement from this one as this was Mishawaka's inaugural series under the Meatspins name. Going up against the Elkhart BFAM who are coming off of a strong 19-5 first season, the Meatspins showed right away that they will be able to hang with the best of the the
NEW CARLISLE- In the final series in what was a beautiful Opening Day around the league, the 3x defending champions picked up right where they left off, sweeping the Bourissa Hills Wildcards (18-8) (10-0) (4-3). After the Magic and Wildcards each scored 3 runs in the 1st inning of Game 1, Maple City piled on 10 runs over the next 2 innings as Jared Jonkman and Shane Anderson each belted a pair of Home Runs in that span. Anderson would settle in on the mound as the only Wildca
