Billy Goats in control headed Home up 2-0 in the ALCS

LA PORTE- After sweeping the 2 time defending champs in the regular season, it ended up being the difference maker in terms of Home Field Advantage for the American League Championship.

Things were no different in Games 1 & 2 of the ALCS at Magic Park as the Goats came in there and won their 5th straight game at Magic Park to take a 2-0 series lead.

Without the Jonkman brothers for the weekend, Maple City knew they would be satisfied with a split. They had their chances in Game 1 after Ryan Murphy put the team on his back, giving the Magic a 2 run lead.

That lead evaporated in the 5th when the Goats bats woke up! The Goats had a huge inning and were flawless in the field as they stole Game 1 as the Magic were the better team for 4 innings.

Knowing how crucial Game 2 would be, the Magic were simply not able to get the bats going against Kadin Abegg who came in to pitch Game 2 for Andrew Doran. The Goats cruised to a 7-2 win despite their star Lucas Oletti having a day to forget at the plate.

For Maple City, their dreams of a 3-peat will come down to this Sunday as they will need to win 3 straight games to win the pennant. The Jonkman brothers will be returning which is obviously a big difference maker, so there is still plenty of hope for the Magic who are also fueled after a pair of heartbreaking Championship and Final 4 losses in the WWBC and the Hometown Cup. Don't count out the champs! A change of scenery could be just what they need.

As for the Goats, this 2nd year franchise is on the cusp of winning the ALCS and earning a spot in the 2019 ORWBL World Series which is a remarkable story since it seemed as though it was a group of Granger Panthers castoffs. This team is dangerous and confident knowing that they are just 6 innings away from winning the American League Pennant.
