Webb takes home Rookie of the Year
NEW CARLISLE - With the ninth season of the Old Republic Wiffle Ball League in the books, the league will recognize its top performers of this past season. Jasen Webb of the Saugany Lake White Lightning has been named 2015 ORWBL Rookie of the Year.
There was no learning curve for Webb in his first season in the league. The White Lightning star was third in the ORWBL with a .623 batting average. He also belted 35 home runs. His 37 RBI is likely an under-reported statistic, as the White Lightning did not keep track of RBI the first series of the season.
Webb also led the team in innings pitched. Although his record on the mound was only 2-6, he and his team were the tough luck losers of multiple one-run games.
All ORWBL awards were voted on by the managers of the league.
